How do you work with GP clinics in your area?

How do you work with GP clinics in your area?

Collaboration between veterinary practices strengthens not just individual hospitals—it elevates entire communities. From sharing resources to supporting one another through challenges, working together makes everyone better.

We asked hospital managers across North Texas how they build relationships with neighboring GP clinics. Here's what they shared.

Band together to solve challenges and share resources. 🤝

"Building a relationship with sister clinics in the area is so important! We collaborate on specific issues that impact our region and band together to handle overflow while being a sounding board for innovative revenue ideas. We borrow staff, doctors, and even the occasional product from each other to continue providing top-notch care. I'm always happy to help—and it doesn't hurt that many of my fellow HMs are the coolest people ever."

Stay connected through regular check-ins and casual meetups. ☕

"I make it a priority to connect with my fellow HMs whenever possible—whether visiting their hospitals or having them stop by mine. I stay available and make sure everyone has my contact info. Sometimes a simple check-in text or call makes all the difference. I also love meeting for breakfast or lunch every month or two with no agenda—just a relaxed, stress-free chance to share what we're seeing, how we're feeling, and support one another."

Share expertise and create training opportunities. 📚

"Two of our techs—Amy and Amaya—have a passion for dentistry and teaching. They've gone to other NVA hospitals to train teams on taking dental radiographs and working more efficiently during dental procedures. There have even been training videos created to assist with team education. Sharing expertise like this strengthens all of us."
