NVA General Practice

Our History

We're a patient-first, people-centric community.

Because it’s not just what we do, it’s who we are.

Founded for veterinarians, by veterinarians.

Founded by a veterinarian in 1997, NVA has channeled our passion for pet care and the resources of our innovative support network into fulfilling our mission: improving the lives of animals and the people who love them. After nearly thirty years of revolutionizing the pet care experience, we remain dedicated to allowing our care teams to practice their best medicine and provide more fulfilling lives to pets and pet parents throughout over 1,000 hospitals across the U.S. and Canada. And we’re just getting started.

From its inception in 1997, NVA has been about community—recognizing that the most exceptional pet care depends on the people who comprise it. With a supportive, patient-focused, and people-centric culture, NVA has evolved from a practice ownership solution for overburdened veterinarians into an expansive network of hospitals providing increased care access for pets and rewarding careers for the people who love them.

By staying true to each practice’s unique culture and equipping their teams with the tools, resources, and opportunities to advance their care and careers, NVA has grown into a thriving, dynamic, and supportive community of over 1,000 general and specialty practice hospitals across the U.S. and Canada. Driven by our commitments to compassion and innovation, NVA is continuously redefining what it means to deliver cutting-edge medicine and happier, healthier lives for pets and those who care for them.
