Test your love for dentistry: How sharp are your skills?
February 10, 2026 · COMMUNITY

Dental disease is one of the most common conditions we see in veterinary medicine yet it's often one of the most undertreated. Whether you're scaling a Chihuahua's tiny incisors or extracting a fractured canine from a Rottweiler, proper technique and knowledge can mean the difference between a healthy mouth and ongoing pain.
That's why I'm excited to offer hands-on training at the PetOne Veterinary Training Center on March 8. As a veterinary technician specialist in dentistry, I've dedicated my career to advancing dental care and empowering veterinary teams to provide gold-standard oral health treatment.
This course is designed for both veterinary technicians and assistants who want to build competence and confidence in delivering safe, effective dental care. Register here.
But first, let's see where your dental knowledge stands. Take this quiz to discover what you already know—and what you might learn at the PetOne Veterinary Training Center!
Whether you aced the quiz or discovered areas to strengthen, I'd love to help elevate your skills and confidence at the PetOne Veterinary Training Center.

About Your Instructor: Sally Outhwaite, RVT, VTS (Dentistry)
I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 2001 and became a registered veterinary technician in 2006. After obtaining an additional degree in Veterinary Technology from Penn Foster University, I became a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Dentistry.
Throughout my career, I've worked across multiple fields within veterinary medicine—from research and histopathology to specialty medicine, large exotics, and small animal practice. But dentistry? That's where my passion truly lies.
My goal is simple: to make advanced dental care accessible and achievable for every veterinary team, so every patient gets the oral health care they deserve.
