Dr. Larry Hill, DVM, DABVP, obtained his DVM from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine (OSU CVM) following his undergraduate studies in Biology and English, and a tour as a Peace Corps Volunteer teaching math and science in Western Samoa in the South Pacific. Dr. Hill entered small animal private practice upon graduation (1994) and returned by invitation to teach at the OSU CVM in 1996. Dr. Hill obtained the rank of Full Professor at the OSU CVM in 2014. His life-long interest and passion for teaching has been recognized over the arc of his academic career, receiving numerous teaching awards, including the Carl Norden-Pfizer Distinguished Teaching Award, the Excellence in Teaching Award (2-time recipient), the John Lyman, Jr. Award for Clinical Teaching Excellence (2-time recipient), the Dean’s Award for Creativity in Teaching, multiple “Best Rotation” Awards, and is an Inaugural Member of the OSU CVM Professional Program Teaching Honor Roll. Dr. Hill became board-certified through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in 2008 (Canine/Feline Specialty). He is currently a Mentor for new and recent graduates employed by National Veterinary Associates (NVA) and an Associate Veterinarian at a well-established NVA practice in Worthington, Ohio, where he performs orthopedic and advanced soft tissue surgery.
