Dr. Sallye Gregg

Dr. Gregg is the JV Partner and Medical Director at I-20 Animal Hospital in Weatherford, Texas. Originally from Cleveland, Tennessee, she received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Tennessee in 1980, graduating as the Outstanding Senior in the College of Agriculture. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983.

Dr. Gregg began her career in mixed animal practice at Bradley Veterinary Hospital in Cleveland, Tennessee, where she developed a small animal practice division. In 1990, she opened Animal Medical Center, a full-service 24-hour hospital that she owned and operated for a decade. In 2000, she sold Animal Medical Center and relocated to Charleston, South Carolina, to pursue emergency medicine, serving as Medical Director for the Greater Charleston Emergency Veterinary Clinic (GCEVC) and Mount Pleasant Emergency Veterinary Hospital (MPEVH).

In 2001, Dr. Gregg started alternate track residency in Emergency and Critical Care at GCEVC while continuing her leadership roles. She served as Director of the Emergency Department at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine from 2003 to 2005 before returning to Tennessee as Medical Director for the Regional Institute for Veterinary Emergencies and Referrals (RIVER). During her tenure at RIVER, she continued advanced training in emergency/critical care, surgery, ultrasound, and cardiac care. In 2019, she moved to Weatherford, Texas, joining I-20 Animal Hospital, which became part of the NVA family in 2021, as their Medical Director.

Dr. Gregg's special interests include emergency/critical care, cardiology, hospital management, and technician utilization. She believes strongly in the "Right Care, Right Now" philosophy that maximizes each team member's capabilities to provide current, patient-centered care for the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Gregg lives with her husband Steve and their Australian Shepherds, Ariel and Annie. She has two sons and three grandchildren. In her spare time, Dr. Gregg enjoys quilting, traveling, and attending cutting horse shows and rodeos.
